I've reserved an entire section to Thailand girls separately out of Thai culture and people because Thai ladies are always a subject of high interest.

A few quick facts first,

Thailand girls have some interesting names and many names. My wife's name for example is Wannaporn. I know it sounds funny but many ladies in Thailand have names like that. To shorten her name and make it easier for foreigners, my wife has everyone call her Wai, which sounds like Y. You'll meet many Thai ladies with names like A, Bee, O, etc.

Not all Thailand girls are the same, of course, but one of the most common traits I've found in Thai woman is that they like joke around A GREAT DEAL! They like to have fun and are free spirited.

Remember that and it will go a long way.

A typical Thailand girl loves white skin. They have an obsession with it. It's a status thing in Thailand. My wife hates it when I get even a little tan. It's funny because most Westerners love tan skin. I guess you always want what you don't have.

There is such a thing as a great looking woman who cooks and cleans... well at least cleans. My wife is very, very clean. She works full time, washes the clothes and cleans, meticulously. The house is always spotless.

However, cooking is not her forte I guess you could say. I mean she can cook but she's a much better cleaner. That's fine with me because I really love cooking and food, especially Thai food.

Most Thai women can at least cook or clean, do it well and don't mind doing it at all; or maybe I just got lucky, lol.

Contrary to popular belief, Thai ladies are actually supposed to act reserved and semi-traditional, even today. Thai society and culture doesn't like public acts affection whether it's on T.V. or anywhere. Thailand girls acting out of character is frowned upon by general Thai culture and society.

What makes a Thai woman beautiful and desirable? Is it her long Thai hair? Her dark skin tone and beautiful slender figure?Or does it have something more to do with her fun and free spirited personality?

It's mostly likely a part or all of that and more.

I can't tell you how many times I've looked at my wife and thought wow! I'm a lucky man. Not only that, She cheers me up a great deal when I'm feeling down or unsettled. To be quite honest she's been there through some of my darkest moments and never left my side. I trust her overwhelmingly because I truly know her heart.

I think you'll find this trait common among many Thai girls. If your willing to be there then so will they.You may ask yourself...

How will a Thai woman behave and treat me (a foreigner) in a relationship?

It's hard to say.

You should first ask some common sense questions to yourself like, are you as attractive and close to the same age as her? Does her attention seem to be on you or something else? Is she always at the movies with her friends instead of you? Does she always have a friends Birthday to go to (if she doesn't invite you this usually means she has someone else)? Is she a bar girl? Is she always on the phone with someone (it could just be her friends but it could be someone else)?

Just because youre an older gentleman with a younger Thai Lady doesn't necessarily mean that it's not going to work or that she doesn't love you. Always remember, a Thailand girls first responsibility is to her family. So that means if you are taking care of her family then she probably holds a special place in her heart for you.

A friend of mine was hung up on one Thai woman for the longest time even after she was already with another man. He finally found another Thai woman through an on-line Thai dating service and it worked out great. He now lives in the U.S. with his new wife. This worked out well for him because the first Thai girl he was hung up about couldn't have and didn't want children and he desperately did; the Thai woman he's married to now has already had her first baby and my friend is very happy now.

Bottom line, if it doesn't work out, dust your feet off and go find another. Don't get hung up on one Thai woman if you find out she's a bad apple. Believe me, you'll probably find one better suited for you.

Communication and understand can be difficult in any relationship but it's going to be multiplied with a Thailand girl. However, anyone you marry from a different country or culture is going to be a little difficult. My first marriage was a communication malfunction. She was Korean but raised in the States from a child. She wrote and spoke better English than I did but somehow we just missed the mark so many times.

I must tell you that if you are interested in a serious relationship with a Thai woman then you must also be serious about helping her family. I can't really stress this enough. Thais are responsible to their parents and family before anything else. This is just the way Thai culture is and you won't be able to change that. If you accept that then you'll be fine.

Thailand girls make the language barrier fun if you don't mind having a parrot on your shoulder.

My wife hears me say words like, "that's ridiculous" and I hear her repeat, "re-dic-u-rous". It is at least entertaining. Of course some well educated Thai women speak English perfectly but they'll never know the ins and out of the English language as well as you.

There are two basic types of women in Thailand. The kind you can bring home to your family and the kind you can't, same as the rest of the world. I believe that most of the Thai women were raised correctly and with values. It just depends of the path that they choose to take. Many Bangkok girls are right on the edge of trying to be good but very close to going the wrong way because of the friends and environment around them.

One of the most common things that single foreign men do once they arrive in Thailand is start dating Bangkok bar girls or bar girls in Pattaya or Phuket or elsewhere in Thailand. You can go this route if you like to gamble and you know that the odds are stacked against you. Or you can take an easier route and date a more common Thailand girl.

If a Thai girl grows up with-out a decent education and direction from the family then it will be that much harder for them to do right. They must have strong internal values.

On the flip side I was dating a Thai woman who had a perfect upbringing. Well educated, great family, manager of a big tourist business in Thailand. We romanced and dated for a very long time before I found out she was with some other guy. So sometimes you never know, knowing the heart is the best way and that takes time.

Again, if it doesn't work out, dust your feet off and start over. Thailand is the last place you need to be dragging around a broken heart, please!

Love it or hate it, many Thai ladies watch Thai soaps. Here's a quick Thai soap opera (called Lakorn in Thai) for and idea of what they watch on occasion. Sometimes those 2 dimentional characters can rub off on a Thai woman.

I know it sounds funny but in some ways they do act like those soaps. Thai culture almost teaches women to act like a child, a little Thai girl. This was hard for me to accept or wrap my head around at first. I know soaps are not good but many Thai girls do watch these. Don't get me wrong, some Thai girls don't watch them at all but again, many do. However, many Thailand girls also watch comedies as well so that's nice!

They also like to be treated very sweetly.

It's never too syrupy sweet for Thailand girls. They eat it up. I can say teeklak krap, Po luck Mia krap na (which literallymeans; my love, husband loves wife ok?) and no matter how bad things are she will always smile. They love sweet talk and they never get enough, never.

They are suckers for romance, even more than Western women.

Going out to eat, shopping and the movie theater are great ways to romance.
