My Passionate Secret?

It's not so much a secret as it is a passion. It's my passion for web building mixed with writing about Thailand and it's only a secret if you don't know what it is and how to use it. I'm talking about SBI.

"Holy Guacamole Batman! You've stumbled across something incredible!"

This was the eureka feeling I had when I realized that I could make my own profitable web sites with little to no fuss.

You see I was someone who knew the potential of the internet but use to do things the old fashion way. Get the $10 to $20 a month web hosting service, buy a web template app like Dreamweaver or such (few hundred dollars), maybe an RSS module (few more dollars), buy countless other tools, get a domain name without doing any research, learn about FTP, PHP, and so on and on...

The old me would also hire a web master and web designer just to get everything to work correctly. This expense was an additional cost to the tools I had already bought. On top of that, every time I wanted to change something on my web site I needed to call up my web master or designer to get things done; only they wouldn't be available for days or sometimes weeks. When I asked them to show me how do something they would say it was too difficult to show me and you know what? It was!

I was spending too much time trying to coordinate a big mess rather than focusing on just building my web site and letting my ideas flow, what a living nightmare! This wasn't the way it was suppose to be. Enter SBI (Site Build It!).

Community...

Do it yourself from those other web service companies really means, GO DO IT YOURSELF! SBI, on the other hand, has THE most powerful tools and forums I have ever come across and I don't say that lightly. In fact their forums, just by themselves, are worth the small monthly fee. SBI�ers (as we are called) are a real community of helpful people, we encourage each other, point out areas where we see that improvement could be made on individual sites and so much more.

This may sound corny and I don't really care but they are the second group of people I fall back on for encouragement and help right behind my community church!

Building a Web Site that Works.

Yeah sure I was in IT (Information Technology) but I was doing it all wrong, putting the horse in front of the cart. Following SBI's process made me realize that I needed to build content and traffic the correct way first before selling. Sounds easy enough and it is. However, without SBI's step by step process of checks and balances I would have been on the same old track I always was on.

I actually thought I was doing pretty well for myself and others I was building web sites for. I would put together a great looking functional web site that had all the bells and whistles (after much headache) but only one problem, traffic!

This very web site has more traffic in less than 5 months than the other sites I built had in 4 years! And it's not only me, take a look at hundred's of other SBI'ers on this results page. I actually know many of these site owners personally and I get to pick their brain at the forums.

Well, you might say, I already know how to build web sites so I don't need SBI. Really? I thought I knew a great deal about web building and designing but I missed so many things, if fact I missed the whole boat.
