The creme de la creme of Bangkok and Thailand in general. If you are one of those lucky enough to enjoy the lap of luxury on a regular basis then cheers to you. Myself, I only reach those high points on occasion but fortunately those memories linger on.
Many who don't know anything about Thailand might think that luxury and Thailand don't mix. However, nothing could be further from the truth. The concentration of luxury living in Thailand is really quite amazing as you'll see.
What I've gathered here is a sample of luxury hotels, apartments and condos through-out Thailand.
For location and map of lodging areas please visit the Physical Map of Thailand page.
This was the first hotel I booked in Thailand. They were running an out of season special and I got a great deal on it.
This luxury hotel in Bangkok is set right at the edge of the River Chao Phraya and close to other luxury resorts.
One of the first things you'll notice is how many service staff are available at your every call, i.e. the door, the elevator, and people at every corner. This hotel knows service very well.
The next thing you'll notice is the huge lobby and lounge area opening up to a view of the river, fantastic!
I loved walking around the grounds area and I really enjoyed the available selection of equipment in the exercise gym.
I only got a standard room but it was very nice and I loved the rain style shower, nice touch. This place really puts you on another level; I was on cloud 9 the whole time!
The only thing I didn't like is that they charged me an arm and a leg for internet access and faxing some papers from the business office but hey what do expect it's a luxury resort.
The Shangri La Bangkok is located very close to a BTS Sky train stop so you'll be able to get anywhere you need to in Bangkok with little worry of traffic.
In all honesty I never stayed here; I just went to a New Years Eve party with a bunch of friends who were staying here.
However, I didn't leave until 5am the next morning so I guess you could say I almost stayed there!
The details and artistic mind set of this place is simply out of this world, talk about high end. I really enjoyed the views here the most. Many have also told me the food is to die for.
If I get a chance I will absolutely try and stay here for a few nights in the future and so should you.
The Peninsula Bangkok is located close to Shangri La Bangkok, also on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.
Peninsula Bangkok Hotel Review
This is another hotel I didn't really sleep at. I was invited to a party here by some friends who lived here.
The Davis hotel is located right across the street from President Park which is where I was staying at during that time.
I believe they have special long term rental prices just like President Park and The Emporium down the street.
This seems to be a place that people either love or hate but I don't know how in the world you could hate it here.
Everything seems up to date and beautiful. The most common complaint I heard about was the service or rather the
staff's lack of understanding English clearly.
Hopefully they can clear that up because the rooms seem nice and bigger than average. The lobby and other areas are great.
This hotel is located at the far end of Sukhumvit soi 22 and close to shopping and everything you could need.
As mentioned the above are just a sample. I also enjoyed the roof top bar at The Banyan Tree, the beautiful and entertaining karaoke rooms in the Westin Grande Sukhhumvit, and the bar and stage area of the Millennium Hilton Bangkok.
There are tons luxury condo and apartment rentals all over Thailand as well, too many to list really. But below I have listed a sample. If you'd like a full view of all available short and long term luxury condos and apartments in Thailand please skip to the bottom and click the links there.
These are individually owned condos that are available for long and sometimes short term rentals. I know about this place pretty well as my buddy was the project manager on the renovation of these back in mid-2000's.
Now the Trendy isn't exactly the kind of place you might think of when you think luxury but to me it's kind of pricey.
At the Trendy you're paying for location, location, location more than anything else. It's located right off of Sukhumvit soi 13, right close to a BTS Sky train stop ad that makes the price jump.
The price runs about 45,000 Thai baht a month for 70 square meters and to me that's a lot.
The rooms are nice and they have everything you'll need for long or short stay; laundry, kitchen, maid service, etc. The condo also has swimming, sauna, fitness, etc.
Don't forget to take a look at Emporium Suites Bangkok for long or short serviced apartment stays. This place is part of The Emporium Mall but it doesn't feel like you're attached to the mall. Very private and homey feel to it. Lots to do and one of THE best locations in Thailand. You should enjoy it.
